Oilfield Torque & Test Services

When oilfield equipment is assembled, connected or prepared to go into service, proper torque and pressure testing are critical steps in confirming that equipment is ready for field conditions. Wagner Energy Services provides professional torque and test services throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for oil and gas operators, drilling contractors, completion crews and other companies working in demanding field environments.

Our crews provide hydraulic bolt torquing, hydrostatic pressure testing, flange management and related testing services using specialized equipment and digital pressure test analysis. The goal is straightforward: complete the work accurately, document the test and give our customers the information they need before equipment is placed into service.

Complete Torque & Test Services for Oil & Gas Operations

Torque and test work involves more than tightening connections and applying pressure. Connections must be properly assembled and torqued, testing equipment must be correctly configured, pressure needs to be controlled and monitored, and the results need to be accurately documented. Wagner Energy Services provides field support throughout this process.

Hydraulic Bolt Torquing

Proper bolt torque is an important part of creating reliable flanged connections in oilfield and industrial equipment. Controlled hydraulic torquing helps crews achieve specified torque requirements consistently across a connection rather than relying on less precise tightening methods.

  • Hydraulic bolt torquing
  • Bolt tensioning
  • Flanges & valves
  • Pressure-control equipment
  • Piping systems
  • Standalone or combined service
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Once equipment and connections have been properly prepared, hydrostatic testing evaluates the integrity of the system under controlled pressure. Testing procedures and pressure requirements are based on the equipment, job specifications and applicable requirements.

  • Blowout preventers (BOPs)
  • Valves & casing
  • Choke manifolds & lines
  • Kill & mud lines
  • Iron, hoses & piping
  • Flanged connections
Digital Pressure Test Analysis & Documentation

Rather than treating a pressure test as simply reaching a particular pressure, Wagner Energy Services focuses on capturing useful test information customers can review and retain, including how pressure behaved over the required testing period.

  • Digital pressure measurement
  • Test analysis
  • Operational records
  • Equipment evaluation
  • Job documentation
Flange Management

A successful pressure test starts before pressure is ever applied. Our crews assist with the preparation, assembly and controlled tightening of flanged connections according to the requirements of the application.

  • Connection preparation
  • Assembly support
  • Controlled tightening
  • Simplified job coordination
Valve Testing & Field Support

Our crews work with customers to understand the equipment being tested, the requirements of the job and the procedures that need to be completed before testing begins.

  • Valve testing
  • Equipment & connection testing
  • Field testing support
  • Pressure test documentation

Built From Field Experience

Wagner Energy Services understands the demands of oil and gas operations because the company's experience began in the field. Clint Wagner earned a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 2016 and began working in flowback operations in 2017.

Through that experience, he saw a need for specialized pressure testing, better testing equipment and more useful digital pressure test analysis during onshore operations and the stages leading to well completion. Today, we use that combination of petroleum engineering knowledge, field experience and specialized equipment to support customers with torque, hydrostatic testing and related services.

Clint also remains active in the oil and gas industry through the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Before Pressure Testing

Improperly tightened bolted connections can contribute to leaks and other problems when equipment is pressurized

Controlled hydraulic torquing helps ensure connections are tightened according to equipment requirements

Torque and pressure testing frequently work hand in hand

Addressing the connection first establishes a better foundation for evaluating equipment integrity

Specialized hydraulic torque equipment and pressure testing pumps support demanding field applications

Digital measurement equipment allows crews to capture and document test information, not just visual readings
